Andy Warhol once said we’d all be famous for 15 glorious minutes. I’m on minute 14, so I’ll have to talk fast.
Maybe what we all didn’t anticipate was that our pets would be famous too. Maybe more famous. Maybe waaaaay more famous. For example, take Loki the Wolf Dog. who has close to 2 million followers on Instagram. And travels everywhere. And canoes. Climbs. Probably parasails. It’s crazy. This grand animal has way more influence than I’ll ever have.
What’s not to love?
Last fall, we had the distinct pleasure of working with Loki and his faithful humans, Kelly Lund and Ally Coucke on a project with Williams Helde for their client Dometic. They took us on a journey into the backwoods of Colorado, and when we shot on a Saturday it was a beautiful Bluebell Rocky Mountain day. Not a cloud in the sky. We did the drone stuff, we hung out for a great sunset, we partook in the good food, we played with Loki. All was right with the world.
But when we woke up the next morning, there was a little curve: Mother Nature dropped a deep layer of snow everywhere. And though this was completely unscripted, we rolled with it. This was added production value, and made it seem like we took two separate trips when in fact we just improvised on the spot. Good fortune, indeed.
Another added bonus to this project was that we were able to really flex our Hand Crank Content Studio offering, and provide a hero video, numerous cut-downs for social, and photos for print ads. This holistic approach to creating content across numerous channels for our clients really paid off – and the campaign has launched to great success across print, the web, Facebook, and yes, Instagram.
The take-away? You can never go wrong with someone as special as Loki. He brings the goodness out in everything.
