Ronobir Lahiri

Ronobir Lahiri has worked in film, television, and theatre for over 15 years.  He holds a degree in Literature and Theater Studies from Yale University.  He formally trained in Indian Classical Music in Calcutta, India, as a sitar disciple of the late Sri Deepak Choudhuri.  As a composer, he was awarded the 2000 Helen Hayes Award for Outstanding Sound Design, and a recent score that he wrote and produced for HBO was awarded the 2010 Sports Emmy for Outstanding Promotional Announcement.

As an actor, his career included the Broadway and West End productions of The King and I, and he has guest-starred on such television shows as Desperate Housewives, Cold Case, Grey’s Anatomy, The Sopranos, and Two and a Half Men, as well as many others.  In 2009, he worked as Musical Director for Franco Dragone’s India, a circus spectacular that toured in Europe.

He lives and works in Los Angeles, with his wife and young son, and their three rambunctious dogs.
